Three Things

This is the piece I made for the "Words of Wisdom" group exhibition, remember I told you about a couple weeks ago?

It's a lenticular flip postcard. It changes depending on the angle you look at it as I wanted the piece to have like a "breath in" mode and a "breath out" mode to be in tune with the message printed on it.

It was interesting and fun researching about lenticular photography, I might use it for another project in the future again ;)

Esta pieza es la que hice para la exposición colectiva con motivo del día de la mujer (Words of Wisdom) que os comenté.

Es una postal lenticular que cambia dependiendo del ángulo desde el que la mires.

Quería que tuviera un modo en el que "inspirara" y otro en el que "espirara" para que hiciera juego con el mensaje que tiene inscrito en ella que significa "respira hondo"...

Fue divertido e interesante aprender sobre fotografía lenticular, quizás vuelva a utilizar el soporte en algún proyecto futuro ;)

Hoxton Square was very busy all the evening, first with the Gilbert and George opening at the White Cube and then with all the people that came over to the Words of Wisdom show at KK Outlet.

It was lots of fun, thanks a lot to all the people who came and even more to the people who organized it! :)

Aquí van algunas imágenes de la inauguración de la expo que mi amado Sebastian hizo. Perdonad la tardanza en compartirlas he estado muy ocupada... pero mejor tarde que nunca, no? ;)

La plaza de Hoxton estuvo llena de gente toda la tarde-noche, primero con motivo de la inauguración de Gilbert and George en el White Cube y después con toda la gente que vino para la expo de Words of Wisdom en el KK Outlet.

Fue muy divertido, mil gracias a todos los que vinieron y a las que organizaron :)

I'm very happy that I've been featured in the most widely read newspaper in Spain!

The thing that it is so popular is not so important for me really, the thing that makes it important for me is that this is the newspaper that was always around during my childhood and teenage years when I lived with my parents so in some way I have a special affection for it. :)

Estoy muy contenta porque me han entrevistado en El País -¡el periódico más leido de mi querida España!-.

El que sea tan popular no es lo que me ilusiona tanto sino que es el que estuvo presente en casa durante mi infancia y adolescencia. Es el que compraban mis padres cuando vivía con ellos -de hecho mi padre lo sigue comprando e imagino mi madre lo compraría si estuviera por aquí también- así que he de confesar que le tengo especial cariño por ser el periódico con el que me crié :)

Gradient Fishes All Around

Last year lovely interior designer Joanna Laajisto asked me to make a 1 metre x 1 metre canvas print with my Gradient Fishes for her new flat in Helsinki. Thanks to this I started a very limited edition with the artwork that finally now is available in the e-shop.

Few weeks ago she sent me the photographs that you see in this post showing the canvas "in action". It makes me very happy to see the magical fishes in such a wonderful space surrounded by beautiful objects and lovely people! :)

The first two photographs are by Mikko Ryhänen (Joanna's husband) for Glorian Koti magazine. The last of the images is a spread from a Paumes book in which Joanna and Mikko's flat has been featured as well.

El año pasado la interiorista Joanna Laajisto me encargó un lienzo digital de 1 metro x 1 metro con mis Gradient Fishes para su nuevo piso en Helsinki. Gracias a esto abrí una edición limitada de la pieza que a partir de ahora está disponible en la tienda online.

Hace unas semanas Joanna me mandó las fotografías que veis en este post. Muestran al lienzo en acción fantásticamente rodeado de objetos preciosos y gente maja. Me hace mucha ilusión ver a los pececitos mágicos tan bien acompañados. :)

Las primeras dos fotos son de Mikko Ryhänen (el marido de Joanna) y salieron publicadas en la revista de interiorismo Glorian Koti. La última de las imágenes es una doble de un libro de esos maravillosos que saca la editorial Paumes en el que el piso de Joanna and Mikko aparece también.

Los interiores finlandeses no paran de molar, ¿verdad?

Mientras lo hacía trataba de invocar a una visión del cuerpo humano por dentro que tuve hace mucho tiempo... es una historia divertida pero es demasiado larga y delirante para contarla en abierto, espero que lo entendais ;)

The W Project Exhibition

Time ago I received an e-mail with an invitation to participate on The W Project.

This iniciative was born last year on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the International Women's Day. There was a wonderful exhibition inspiring talks and many other things.

I'm thrilled to be part of such a talented creative rooster in this year's exhibition. Very talented ladies like Fred Butler, Quentin Jones, Holly Walles, Sister Arrow, Supermarket Sarah, Chrissie Abbott, Lazy Oaf, Kate Gibb and many more will be part of the show too.

Projects like this are the ones that really get me excited. With this iniciative Teo and Loren have created a platform in which important subjects are brought up.

It's crucial revisiting how the role of women is being communicated. Promoting community spirit is also indispensable for this 21th century. We need to leave comparisons behind, forget criticism, insecurities and all those things. Let's dream all together to plan a better tomorrow creating "a now" positive and full of enthusiasm.

Hace un tiempo recibí un e-mail con una invitación a participar en The W Project.

Una iniciativa que nació el año pasado con motivo del 100 aniversario del día internacional de la mujer y que dio pie a una exposición fantástica y charlas inspiradoras entre otras cosas.

Me hace muchísima ilusión formar parte del rooster de creativas seleccionadas para participar en la exposición de este año. Van a participar creativas tan talentosas como Fred Butler, Quentin Jones, Holly Walles, Sister Arrow, Supermarket Sarah,Chrissie Abbott, Lazy Oaf, Kate Gibb y muchas más! La inauguración es el próximo día 8, subiré fotitos de todo para que lo veais por aquí :)

Son proyectos como este los que me hacen vibrar. Con esta iniciativa Teo y Loren han creado una plataforma en la que se plantean temas muy importantes a mi parecer. Es necesario enriquecer la manera en la que se comunica el rol de la mujer -ya vale con el rollo del florero- y a su vez fomentar el espíritu de comunidad y hermandad. Hay que dejar atrás las comparaciones, las críticas, las inseguridades y todas esas cosas. Soñemos junt@s para construir un mañana mejor creando "un ahora" positivo y entusiasta.

Transformation Circle #3

From this scheme I'm about to start a 1 m x 1 m canvas painting. This is part from the Transformation Circles project too. This "oh-so-subtle-and-translucent" colour palette has me a bit scared... wish me luck with the colour mixing.

The view from my studio is pretty white again, so nice to have some snow for the weekend! Have a good one dear readers :)

Estoy por comenzar a pintar un lienzo de un metro por un metro a partir de este esquema que he hecho. Todo esto es parte del projecto Transformation Circles que os comenté hace poco. Deseadme suerte con las mezclas de color que esta paleta me tiene un poco asustada con sus sutilezas y transparencias... :/

Las vistas desde mi estudio están bastante blanquitas de nuevo, me gusta mucho que haya nieve para el fin de semana. Os deseo un fin de semana precioso queridos lectores, reine la nieve, la lluvia o el sol :)

Windowfarms and Raw Recipes

Things in our kitchen are changing lots (they kind of always are, but now EVEN MORE)... we have bought a 6 in 1 juicer, a food dehydrator and a sprouter. We are going into the raw path a bit more and we are very excited to make our own raw gluten free crakers, lots of different green juices and even nut butters -the juicer makes them!-.

All this made me remember a TED conference that I found very inspiring time ago. Window gardens open source!! Growing your own veggies with D.I.Y hydroponics is the future AND the present. Learn how to make your own Windowfarm here.

The other day my friend Lupe showed me Jónsi and Alex Recipe show in which they make some delicious raw vegan recipes. Do you remember the lasagna I posted time ago? They make a very similar one with the help of a lovely rabbit :) Makes me very hungry to write about these things... time for breakfast!

Las cosas están cambiando bastante en nuestra cocina (la verdad que siempre están bastante cambiantes pero ahora TODAVÍA MÁS!)... hemos comprado una licuadora 6 en 1, una deshidratadora y una germinadora "profesional". Estamos andentrándonos en el camino crudívoro un poquito más y andamos muy emocionados planeando hacer crakers "vitales" y caseritos libres de gluten, un montón de zumos verdes y hasta nuestras propias mantequillas de frutos secos -la licuadora las hace solita ;)-.

Esto me ha hecho recordar una conferencia TED que vi hace tiempo y me resultó muy inspiradora. Huertos ventaneros open source!! Cosechar tus propios vegetales es el futuro Y el presente, además si es en plan hidropónico mejor que mejor. Aquí podeis aprender a haceros vuestro huerto ventanero :)

El otro día mi amiga Lupe me enseñó estos videos de Jónsi y Alex haciendo recetas crudiveganas facilitas y ricas con ayuda de un conejito muy majo. Tiene todo muy buena pinta! Y os acordais de la lasaña que posteé hace tiempo? Ellos hacen una parecidísima. Me da mucha hambre escribir sobre estas cosas... ¡hora de desayunar!

A bit more of my studio + artist studios around the world

Last weekend was a white one. On Saturday the snow started to fall and I baked apple crumble so that we could have it with some chai while looking through the window the snow falling.

Wanted to upload some pictures from the snowman that our neighbours made but I'm very busy working on a deadline :/

As many of you asked for more pictures of my studio I've uploaded some that I took last Summer. Sorry for the quality, took them with my mobile.

When I have a bit more of time I want to visit this site properly. It features hundreds of photographs from A LOT of artists studios. Always fun and inspiring to browse this kind of website! :)

En pasado fin de semana fue de lo más blanco. El sabado comenzó a nevar e hice un crumble de manzana para comerlo mientras tomabamos un chai y contamplabamos la nieve caer.

Quería subir fotos del muñeco de nieve que hicieron los vecinos en nuestra calle pero ando muy liada con una entrega para un cliente.

Como varios me habeis ido pidiendo que enseñe más mi estudio he subido unas fotitos que hice con el movil el verano pasado. Perdonad la calidad, pero imagino que valen para que os hagais una idea del espacio.

Cuando tenga un poco más de tiempo quiero mirarme esta web a fondo. Tiene cientos de fotos de estudios de artistas. Siempre es divertido e inspirador navegar webs así, no? :)

Today's post is not here; it's at Honey Kennedy (one of my favourite blogs!!). Love HK, I would wear -and eat!- almost everything that Jen posts about and she makes me want to visit Portland badly. Hopefully soon! :)

I was thrilled when Jen suggested me to write about love, it's the best subject ever, isn't it?

El post de hoy no está aquí; está en Honey Kennedy (¡uno de mis blogs favoritos!). Me encanta HK, me pondría -y a veces comería- practicamente todo lo que Jen postea y además consigue que me den ganas locas de visitar Portland. Ojalá pronto lo consiga :)

Que emoción cuando Jen me dijo que escribiera sobre el amor. La mejor y más amplia temática del mundo, ¿no?

Mi post habla del corazón como símbolo del amor. En él encontrareis bellecitas con forma corazonada, conceptos de alquimia y antiguo Egipto y hasta películas y canciones con la palabra corazón en sus títulos.

Good morning everyone!!

Hope your weekend was great.

Today is VERY cold here in London and kind of cloudy, however in my heart I still keep all the sun that I enjoyed last Summer (and Autumn!).

These are some of the photographs I was taking while Sebastian was filming me for this video. It was early October and that day the temperature was like 30ºC! It even reminded me of Barcelona at one point, ha ha ha!

I love the Geffrye Museum, its architecture, its garden, the collection. If you haven't visited it yet please do. You'll surely enjoy the visit :)

Hoy está nublado y además hace un frio que pela aquí en Londres pero de cualquier modo tengo mucho sol del pasado verano y otoño guardado en mi corazón para disfrutar todavía ;)

En este post van algunas de las fotos que estaba haciendo mientras Sebastián me filmaba para este video. Ese día a comienzos de Octubre hacía TANTO sol y calor. Londres me recordaba a Barcelona y todo!

El lugar es el Geffrye Museum, ando enamorada de su arquitectura, su jardín y su colección. Si no lo habeis visitado todavía por favor id cuando os pille a mano, seguro que os encanta :)

The plant above is the softest one I've ever touch. It's known as "lamb's ear" or Stachys byzantina.

La planta de arriba es la más suave que he tocado en mi vida. Se la conoce como "oreja de cordero" o Stachys byzantina.

The Prettiest Sewing Machine

Feeling very lucky that a super nice lady gave me this beautiful sewing machine a week ago.

It's my first sewing machine!!!

I'm calling it Cleo and these last days I've been learning how to take care of it -oil, cleaning, etc- meanwhile I look for lovely sewing patterns from the 20's and 30's (I know I'm just a beginner but I like to start with stylish projects ;).

Do you sew? Where do you get your patterns??

I've found this site and looks VERY promising, have you tried it?

Me siento muy afortunada de que una señora super divina me regaló hace una semana esta máquina de coser. ¡Nunca había tenido una antes y estoy emocionada!

La llamo Cleo y estos días he estado aprendiendo a como cuidarla -aceitado, limpieza, etc- mientras buscaba patrones bonitos de los años 20 y 30 (ya se que soy una novata, pero quiero aprender con projectos estilosos para motivarme ;).

¿Coseis? Si es así, ¿dónde conseguís los patrones?

He encontrado esta web que parece SUPER prometedora, la habeis probado?
